We love children at our church!  We love them not as the future but as the present.  Their imagination and big hearts stretch all the rest of us to dream bigger dreams and picture a world where all the children are free.  We'll launch our series "Free To Be... When ordinary but important things go missing from our lives, we stop at nothing to find them.  The same is true for God and us.  When we feel lost, God's love never stops looking for us.  This week we hear two of the most well-known stories of searching in the Bible, the parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin.  IWe'll talk about what it means to feel lost and to feel found and we'll also talk about how the search for what is missing invokes the power of invitation. We'll sing some belovedly classic hymns and the children will finally investigate what's inside that beautiful lantern plant.  We hope you'll join us for a Sunday of discovery, community, and invitation. We're piling back into church this Sunday for the start of a festive fall season.  The children will kick it off with a Rally Day for Sunday School at 9:15 and then we'll all pull up a seat in the Sanctuary at 10:30 for good singing, shared prayers, a conversation about invitation, and a feast around God's table.  After worship, we party!  Join us for our annual community Block Party where you can help serve the neighborhood and share God's love while also enjoying a delicious lunch and maybe a trip down the bouncy slide. M O S A I C C O M B I N E D W O R S H I P Come one, come all! We are planning a wonderful combined worship service for all of our Mosaic UMCs this Sunday, August 31st at 10:00 AM at Landis Arboretum. Read on for more details! The service starts at 10:00 AM in the Peace Pavilion, a fully accessible, fully covered open-air structure within the arboretum's grounds. Landis Arboretum is located at 174 Lape Road, Esperance. There is plenty of parking by the entrance kiosk. The pavilion is just up the road. Folks needing a shorter walk can park close to the pavilion itself or be dropped off. Bring your own comfortable lawn chair or use one of the provided folding chairs. Childcare for children of all ages will be provided during the service by the Cobleskill UMC nursery staff. Be part of a "pick-up" Mosaic choir and come at 9:15 to learn a simple song. The service will be full of even more amazing music led by folks from all of our different churches. Each of our pastors will share briefly about a spiritual practice that is meaningful for them as part of our service and we will also all partake in a Love Feast. Coffee Hour will follow the service. You are more than welcome to stay after the service and explore the grounds of the arboretum which include many trails and beautiful trees. There is no entrance fee for Landis Arboretum.
